Michigan State University
Major: Interdisciplinary Studies
Concentration: Community Governance & Advocacy
Cognate: Psychology
With a degree in IDS, I am able to learn and utilize a wide range of fields and practices to tackle and provide solutions to specific issues and concerns. Taking classes that surround the fields of psychology, social work, philosophy, human develop and family studies, and many more, I receive an all around learning experience that has and will provide me the ability to analyze a problem from many different angles. Obtaining an IDS major means that you realize there is more than one aspect to give priority to in order to develop a long term, successful solution to any problem needing to be addressed within any community.
Since switching to my major to IDS, my grades have been Dean's list acceptable, which continues to reassure that I am in the right field, learning and accomplishing what peaks my utmost interests.
My program, Education Advocacy Center (EAC), listed on my 'About Me' page, is one of my first steps in implementing my studies in a real world setting. Running this program has put my education to the test in paying attention to every aspect of the program, every tutor and their teaching style, and most importantly, every student we mentor.
